Agree the review questions
Write down what the review is intended to answer: dimensions, feeding, sealing, bale release or a later handling stage. Identify who will review the results.
Keep the questions specific to the load and process being assessed. A supplier sample and an application review serve different purposes.
Record the samples and conditions
Identify each sample or batch, the equipment and the settings used. Include bale dimensions and mass and the condition in which measurements are taken.
Record covering materials, strap positions and any protection at contact points. A drawing can preserve details that are difficult to compare from memory.
Follow the handling sequence
Observe the stages included in the agreed review, from application and release to movement or storage. Record what was observed and when.
If an issue occurs, retain the context and any relevant photographs. Avoid assigning a cause before the observation has been reviewed.
Keep the outcome traceable
Summarize the review conditions, observations and open questions. State any agreed next step and identify who will confirm it.
A later change to the bale, equipment or handling route may require a fresh review. Keep that change linked to the earlier record.
