What does Reimotec technology mean for a strap buyer?

Newton China integrates Reimotec PET strapping production technology. For a buyer, the useful next question is what the proposed strap will do on the packaging line. Start with the product specification, the intended equipment and the evidence needed for acceptance. A production technology name helps explain the manufacturing approach; the written grade specification defines the product you are ordering.

Keep a short project brief: package dimensions and mass, existing strap, machine or hand-tool model, handling route and the problem to solve. A feeding issue and a cost-per-package target may need different trials, even when the same nominal strap width is being considered.

Read the production chain as a set of control points

SIMA describes strapping-line technology through extrusion, stretching and winding. EREMA’s public inline PET example also includes feedstock treatment, filtration and downstream stabilisation. That example illustrates a possible process route; it does not establish Newton’s installed recycling system or line settings.

  1. Material and forming: ask which grade and material specification the quotation covers.
  2. Dimensions and surface: request nominal values, tolerances and the measurement method.
  3. Performance: agree which breaking-load, elongation and joint results are required.
  4. Finished coil: confirm the interface with your dispenser and the delivery identification.

Use these questions to organise a supplier review. Do not transfer a machinery supplier’s catalogue output, speed or product range into the specification of a Newton strap.

Link production choices to your own equipment

A purchasing trial should represent the equipment that will use the strap. Share the machine model and the currently accepted width and thickness range. Explain whether the strap is hand-applied, fed through a semi-automatic machine or used in an automatic line. Record the permitted tensioning and joining settings from the equipment instructions.

Include the coil change in the review. A sample that feeds correctly from a temporary arrangement does not confirm the production dispenser setup. Agree the coil orientation, identification and changeover procedure alongside the strap specification.

Ask for evidence you can compare

Give candidate grades the same enquiry form. Request the declared dimensions, weight per meter, minimum properties, available test records and batch identification. Ask how a reported value was measured and whether it is a typical value or an acceptance limit. Treat a brochure statement and a batch result as different kinds of information.

For a lower-g/m proposal, compare cost per accepted package under equivalent trial conditions. Record feeding, joint performance, package condition and any rework. More meters from a fixed material mass is useful only when the proposed grade meets the agreed application requirements.

Prepare a practical trial and handover

Set acceptance criteria before running the sample. Include representative loads, the intended machine and the people who will record results. Keep the current approved configuration as the comparison, change one relevant variable at a time and document any machine adjustment.

Once accepted, retain the grade identifier, agreed specification, equipment setup and approval record. This gives purchasing and production a common reference for repeat orders. Visit our Reimotec technology overview or send the application brief to Newton to begin the review.
