Compliance

Does the documentation cover the product and decision we are reviewing?

Newton's brochure lists management-system certificates and material-test references. These serve different purposes: a management-system certificate describes its certified scope, while a material report describes the tested sample and method. Request current copies and match them to the proposed grade, destination and purchasing requirements.

Management systems

The brochure lists ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. Review the certificate's scope, issuing body, covered activities and validity; a system certificate is not a substitute for a product specification or application trial.

Material-test references

The brochure includes EU packaging / PPWR-related screening, RoHS, REACH SVHC, PFAS, U.S. TPCH and TSCA references. Review the actual report, date, tested sample and screening scope instead of treating these labels as blanket approval for every grade or market.

Trace the evidence to the order

Keep the approved grade and specification revision, relevant document references and batch identification together. Confirm which documents are available and supplied for the order before purchasing approval.

Supplier Qualification & Switching Risk

How can we introduce a new strap without making an uncontrolled change?

Supplier approval should connect the written specification to a representative line and package trial. Define who approves the change, what is being compared and which evidence closes the review. Do not treat a sample that works once as approval for every operating condition.

01 / Establish the baseline

Record the load, current strap dimensions and g/m, equipment model, joining method, settings, storage and transport conditions. Identify what needs to remain equivalent and what the buyer wants to improve.

02 / Agree the trial and acceptance criteria

Select the proposed grade and trial quantity, define relevant strap and joint tests, and plan representative feeding, tensioning and package checks. Follow equipment instructions and include qualified application review where failure could cause harm.

03 / Release a controlled first order

Document trial findings, approved specification revision, responsible reviewers and any operating conditions. Confirm packing, batch labels, inspection records and delivery terms before the first production order.

04 / Review repeat supply and changes

Check the first delivered batch against the agreed acceptance process. Link repeat orders to the approved reference and agree how material, specification or process changes that affect the product are communicated and evaluated.
